La Confederación de Cámaras Nacionales de Comercio, Servicios y Turismo (CONCANACO SERVYTUR), a través del presidente Octavio de la Torre anunció que las festividades en honor a la Virgen de Guadalupe generarán una derrama económica estimada de 20 mil millones de pesos a nivel nacional, representando un aumento del 22.5 por ciento en comparación al año anterior, consolidándose como una de las tradiciones más significativas y con mayor impacto económico en el país.
De acuerdo con cifras del Gobierno de la Ciudad de México, desde el 6 al 15 de diciembre, la Basílica de Guadalupe reciba aproximadamente 12 millones de peregrinos de todas partes del país, quienes participarán en esta celebración que conmemora la aparición de la Virgen de Guadalupe en el cerro del Tepeyac, considerada símbolo de identidad y espiritualidad para millones de mexicanos.
Este importante flujo de visitantes beneficiará a diversos sectores económicos:
- Comercio minorista: Ventas de veladoras, artículos religiosos, ropa tradicional y souvenirs.
- Alimentos y bebidas: Aumento en la demanda de comida típica y servicios de cafeterías y restaurantes cercanos a los puntos de peregrinación.
- Transporte: Incremento en los servicios de transporte público, privado y de turismo.
- Hotelería y hospedaje: Reservas en hoteles y moteles debido a la afluencia de peregrinos nacionales e internacionales.
Comparativa histórica
La derrama económica proyectada para 2024 representa un crecimiento significativo frente a años anteriores:
- En 2019, la celebración generó más de 10 mil millones de pesos.
- En 2021, se registraron más de 14 mil millones de pesos.
- En 2023, se alcanzó una derrama de 15 mil 500 millones de pesos.
«El Día de la Virgen de Guadalupe no solo es un evento religioso y cultural, sino también un motor económico que fortalece al comercio y los servicios en el país. Hacemos un llamado a los comerciantes y prestadores de servicios para que brinden una experiencia de calidad a los peregrinos y visitantes, contribuyendo así al desarrollo económico local y nacional”, señaló el presidente de la Confederación.
Finalmente, Octavio de la Torre reafirmó su compromiso de colaborar con los distintos sectores económicos para garantizar que estas festividades se desarrollen en un ambiente seguro, ordenado y favorable para el crecimiento del comercio en México.
