La Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) está fortaleciendo rubros que son prioritarios para el crecimiento de la matrícula y el mejoramiento de la infraestructura, aseveró el rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado tras presentar al Patronato Universitario un informe de los avances más relevantes en el segundo año de su período rectoral.
En la reunión con el órgano colegiado, celebrada en la Facultad de Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia, el rector Dámaso Anaya explicó el proceso que ha seguido desde el inicio de su gestión para conocer y atender las necesidades de las diferentes escuelas, facultades y unidades académicas de la UAT.
Como parte de la agenda, además de la exposición de indicadores y logros académicos, el rector presentó al Patronato Universitario un informe del ejercicio presupuestal, reiterando el compromiso institucional con los procesos de transparencia y rendición de cuentas.
Apuntó que los esfuerzos se han centrado en fortalecer la infraestructura mediante acciones que, en conjunto, buscan mejorar la calidad educativa, ampliar la matrícula y ofrecer espacios de aprendizaje, investigación y esparcimiento más dignos y funcionales.
Precisó que, en ese aspecto, se ha impulsado la construcción de nuevas aulas y laboratorios, el equipamiento con tecnología moderna, y la adecuación de espacios deportivos y de recreación con nuevas techumbres, entre otras acciones al servicio de los universitarios.
Informó que se ha modificado el Bachillerato de la UAT para responder a las exigencias nacionales en esta materia, y que, como parte de este trabajo, se abrió el nuevo modelo de Bachillerato Virtual que representa una oportunidad para aquellas personas que no han concluido sus estudios de nivel medio superior.
Mencionó también la creación de nuevas licenciaturas y la extensión de otras a los distintos campus en el Estado. Siendo así que, con estos esfuerzos, la Universidad podrá crecer de manera importante en el número de estudiantes que recibe cada periodo escolar.
Asimismo, refirió que para el año 2026 la intención es fortalecer el posgrado, sobre todo en temas como publicación de libros, registro de derechos de autor, propiedad intelectual, participación en revistas científicas, entre otros.
A la par de este esfuerzo, subrayó que se ha impulsado el deporte y la cultura como rubros esenciales para la formación de los futuros profesionales, y que, precisamente para fortalecer la formación de los estudiantes, se está preparando un programa para vincular el servicio social de la UAT con importantes empresas del Estado y del país.
Finalmente, el rector Dámaso Anaya destacó la Certificación Tipo Inspección Federal (TIF) para el Rastro de la Facultad de Medicina Veterinaria y Zootecnia, siendo la única institución de educación superior en México que cuenta con esta categoría, además del anuncio de SENASICA para impulsar la capacitación técnica y profesional en ese tipo de programas federales que tienen que ver con la calidad y sanidad de la producción de carnes.
