Con la participación de la Dra. Annie Pardo Cemo, investigadora emérita de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), se puso en marcha el VI Congreso de Investigadoras del Sistema Nacional de Investigadoras e Investigadores (SNII) y de Iberoamérica, organizado por la Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT) en coordinación con la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP).
El acto inaugural, realizado en el Aula Magna del Centro Universitario Sur, fue encabezado por el rector de la UAT, Dámaso Anaya Alvarado, quien dio la bienvenida a las participantes en este encuentro académico que reúne a científicas, docentes y especialistas de 27 países para fortalecer la colaboración, la equidad y el desarrollo científico con sentido humano.
En su mensaje, el rector subrayó que la UAT impulsa, de manera decidida, la participación de las mujeres en la ciencia, señalando que en México existen más de 18 000 integrantes del SNII, y que 200 de ellas pertenecen a la UAT, lo que representa el 77.2 % de las investigadoras de Tamaulipas. Afirmó que este liderazgo refleja el compromiso por reducir brechas y consolidar una ciencia con sentido humano, incluyente y orientada al bienestar social.
La jornada tuvo como acto central la participación de la Dra. Annie Pardo Cemo, una de las científicas más influyentes de México y del ámbito iberoamericano. Su trayectoria incluye distinciones como el Premio Glaxo Wellcome, el Premio GlaxoSmithKline, el Premio Nacional de Ciencias 2022 y su nombramiento como la mejor científica mexicana en biología molecular por Research.com.
La Dra. Pardo presentó la conferencia titulada “De fisiología a patología: la paradoja de la cicatriz”, en la que explicó el contraste entre la cicatrización normal y la fibrosis, un proceso patológico en el que el depósito de matriz extracelular continúa de manera descontrolada y progresiva hasta deteriorar los órganos afectados.
A partir de ejemplos clínicos y fundamentos biomédicos, enfatizó la importancia de comprender estos mecanismos celulares para avanzar en el tratamiento de enfermedades fibróticas y fortalecer líneas de investigación que mejoren la calidad de vida de la población.
Al término de su exposición, el rector Dámaso Anaya entregó un reconocimiento institucional a la Dra. Pardo por su destacada trayectoria y por su aportación al fortalecimiento de la comunidad científica iberoamericana.
En el evento se contó con la presencia de la alcaldesa de Tampico, Mónica Zacil Villarreal Anaya y la alcaldesa de Nuevo Laredo, Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal, así como Angélica Mendieta Ramírez y Elda Margarita Hernández Rejón, presidenta y vicepresidenta del congreso, entre otras autoridades.
El VI Congreso de Investigadoras del SNII y de Iberoamérica reúne a más de 1 600 autoras y autores, consolidando un ecosistema diverso y comprometido con la equidad y el impacto social. Entre sus actividades, se programaron paneles magistrales, presentaciones de libros, mesas de trabajo, y otros eventos orientados a fortalecer redes científicas entre investigadoras de México e Iberoamérica.
