Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas.- Para proteger a la población y abordar el impacto que pudieran tener las temperaturas extremas, la Secretaría de Salud intensifica las acciones de prevención a través del programa “Temporada de Calor 2024” el cual se contempla durante los meses de marzo a octubre.
Con la finalidad de evitar enfermedades propias de la temporada, como deshidratación, golpe de calor, enfermedades gastrointestinales, entre otras, a partir del mes de marzo al 15 de octubre, se realizan actividades que refuerzan la prevención, difusión y atención de los efectos nocivos que pudieran causar las altas temperaturas a la población.
En coordinación con las instituciones que conforman el sector salud (IMSS, ISSSTE, Cruz Roja, Sedena, Naval) Protección Civil, Educación, CONAGUA, entre otras dependencias y luego de sesionar en el Comité Estatal de Seguridad en Salud (CESS), el programa de Temporada de Calor 2024 contempla garantizar los insumos necesarios en las unidades médicas del sector, atender de manera inmediata los padecimientos ocasionados por esta causa, así como se difunden las recomendaciones entre la población que acude a la consulta.
Para este año, se estima la presencia de varias ondas de calor y para ello se presentó el mapa de procesos para la vigilancia epidemiológica de casos relacionados por altas temperaturas, en donde se analizará la amenaza y el nivel de riesgo para que a través de la Secretaría de Salud, se emitan las “alertas” necesarias por ola de calor extremo.
Este programa, también contempla la protección y atención a la población escolar de los efectos nocivos de esta temporada, verificar los establecimientos que puedan dañar la salud con alimentos contaminados y sensibilizar a la población a tomar precauciones para evitar enfermedades propias de las temperaturas altas.
Cabe mencionar que las enfermedades por calor se presentan cuando se registran temperaturas ambientales mayores a 32° centígrados y una humedad relativa mayor al 60 por ciento y las personas más susceptibles a presentar patologías asociadas a éstas son los adultos mayores, niños, población adolescente, personas que trabajan bajo los rayos del sol, las personas con obesidad o con alguna comorbilidad como presión, diabetes, entre otras.
