Matamoros, Tamaulipas. – el secretario de Recursos Hidráulicos para el Desarrollo Social, Raúl Quiroga Álvarez, encabezó la décima octava reunión ordinaria del Comité de Seguimiento y Evaluación del Semáforo del Cuidado del Agua aplicable en Tamaulipas, con vigencia a partir del mes de febrero.
El evento, que contó con la participación del secretario del ayuntamiento, Cuauhtemoc Perrusquia Ramírez en representación del presidente municipal de Matamoros, autoridades locales y estatales, representantes del Congreso del Estado y de diversos sectores, así como de gerentes generales de varios organismos operadores del agua y representantes del sector agrícola, abordó la situación hídrica actual que presentan los municipios del estado.
El secretario de Recursos Hidráulicos detalló que la situación en los municipios fronterizos es particularmente negativa debido a los bajos niveles de almacenamiento de las presas internacionales “Falcón” y “La Amistad”, las cuales no han presentado recargas debido a la falta de precipitaciones y escurrimientos en la región.
«Tenemos un rezago muy importante para el cumplimiento del Ciclo 36 en la cuenca del Río Bravo. Tamaulipas no produce agua, por lo cual lo que sucede en la cuenca alta nos impacta para bien y para mal, por eso tenemos el semáforo del agua en rojo,» afirmó Quiroga Álvarez.
Tras realizar el balance hidráulico justificativo de las cuencas, se abrió un espacio para que gerentes de los organismos operadores del agua compartieran los avances en las acciones de sus respectivos proyectos estratégicos para continuar en la mejora de los servicios públicos de agua potable, drenaje y saneamiento.
Al término de la reunión, el gerente de la Junta de Aguas y Drenaje de Matamoros, Marco Hernández Acosta, expresó su agradecimiento al gobernador Américo Villarreal por los recursos y obras destinadas a la mejora de la infraestructura hidráulica del municipio.
Finalmente, el Comité de Evaluación y Seguimiento del Semáforo del Cuidado del Agua aprobó la actualización en los colores del semáforo del agua, acordando oficialmente el color rojo para los 10 municipios de la franja fronteriza, mientras que el resto de los 33 municipios del estado fueron catalogados con color verde con respecto al monitor de sequía, derivado de los buenos niveles de sus respectivas fuentes de abastecimiento.
