Hoy vengo a hablarles de la aplicación práctica de la Ley de Mercados Digitales (DMA) en nuestra vida social, y sí, tu preocupación es válida. La interoperabilidad forzada entre aplicaciones como WhatsApp y sus rivales (Signal, Telegram, etc.) significa que la conveniencia de la tecnología trae consigo el riesgo de contacto no deseado, lo que es uno de los mayores impactos a nivel social y de privacidad. La DMA obliga a que los mensajes viajen entre plataformas, lo que abre una nueva puerta: la posibilidad de que un exnovio, exnovia o cualquier contacto con el que cortaste comunicación en una aplicación (como bloquear a alguien en otra red) pueda potencialmente iniciar una conversación contigo a través de WhatsApp usando esa aplicación externa. Aunque WhatsApp debe respetar la lista de bloqueos internos que tú ya estableciste (si bloqueas a alguien directamente en WhatsApp, esa persona no debería poder contactarte), la interoperabilidad sí permite que contactos completamente nuevos o personas que no tengas agregadas te envíen un mensaje de forma más sencilla, ya que están usando una plataforma que Meta está obligada a aceptar. El problema es doble: no solo existe la preocupación por la seguridad del cifrado, sino también el riesgo de que la aplicación que usas para comunicarte con tus seres queridos se convierta en una nueva vía para el acoso o el contacto no solicitado. Es un equilibrio complicado entre la competencia tecnológica y tu paz mental. Por esto, hay que estar pendientes en las próximas actualizaciones y esperemos que esos cambios no violen la seguridad de los usuarios ni comprometan la privacidad que tanto valoramos.
